Dedicated professionals committed to providing compassionate healthcare to the people of Teso and beyond.
The health clinic in rural Ongino is located at the end of a dirt road, about 7 km from the town of Kumi. Dr. Malinga says new African hospitals are using natural cross ventilation, remote wards and an effective triage system to reduce the spread of infectious diseases such as tuberculosis.
Simple measures, such as having a hand-washing station up to 20 meters away in the hospital, help prevent hospital infections. Under Dr. Malinga's leadership, Kumi Hospital continues to expand its services and improve healthcare outcomes for the community.
Newborn and maternal health is the main health problem in Africa, before malaria or AIDS.

Kumi Hospital, Founded on the love and compassion of Christ, has been, and still is, a place of healing, hope, and restoration since 1929. As a church-founded institution, we believe that caring for the body is inseparable from caring for the soul. Guided by Christian values, we serve all people with dignity, compassion, and excellence, reflecting God’s love in every touch, word, and act of service. Our mission is not only to treat illness but to bring comfort, encouragement, and spiritual strength to those in need.
'And the prayer offered in faith will make the sick person well; the Lord will raise them up.' (James 5:15)'
Our nurses are the backbone of patient care at Kumi Hospital
Nursing activities begin after consultation and diagnosis by a doctor. Nurses play multiple roles depending on the unique needs of each patient. They are assessed based on academic qualification, visible in their work clothes.
